The University of Haifa established the Center for Tourism, Pilgrimage and Recreation Research (CTPRR) in 1998 as part of the University’s decision to upgrade its academic activities. in the fields of tourism, leisure and recreation. This decision reflects the on-going influence of the leisure and travel industries on the Israeli and Middle Eastern economy, society and environment.
